The Small Big Word, Amen
The small word Amen is a big part of prayer. Prayer is nearly a vow or promise to God that what we pray is the truth on our hearts. God listens to our prayers. We trust in Him, and He hears everything we say. To make prayer into an empty vanity is something people do. Jesus teaches us to pray with the model prayer and promises God will listen to your Amen!
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)
The Throne God Listens From
With all that we pray for, we know God’s throne of mercy and grace is available through our perfect High Priest (Hebrews 4). Whatever spiritual question we make to God is always answered in the affirmative. Pray for a stronger faith and pursue it. Ask for an enhanced character of kindness and work to mold yourself in His image. No matter what the spiritual question is. If you have read about the gift of righteous living in the Bible, a blessing promised by those who live a life directed by God and His Word is guaranteed.
The Physical Necessities God Wants to Bless
Physical blessings are temporary, but God hears when we ask for them. God’s will is that we have the necessities of life but that does not say we will not have to skip a meal(s). Since treasuring items that rust and moth destroy is pointless, it does not do to ask God for perishables.
He says to pray for physical necessities but not to the point of overindulgence. Of the blessings received, Abraham gave 10% to a priest of God named Melchizedek in the Old Testament.
God Wants To Empower Your Giving
Although tithing is not a new covenant concept, but is a denominational theology, 2 Corinthians 9 does teach us to give a part of our income to the cause of Christ. With that blessing is the promise that we will never run out of seed to sow for the kingdom.
Motive for The Means
We do not give to receive more, and we are not required to give a designated 10%. But what if every member of your congregation gave 10% to the Lord? The church would have a fat treasury blessed by Father God. God hears when we are motivated to do services for Christ. Thus, divine mercy is discovered when we pray for our daily bread.
God Wants to Heal You
We may pray for healing as a part of requests to God. He listens to us. We should be at peace knowing that what is most important to God is to offer forgiveness when we are ill, yes even terminal illness.
“Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.”
James 5:14-15 (ASV)
The Emphasis of The Prayer
Elders occupy a special place in the Lord’s church, but I am not going to talk about that. The emphasis is on the prayer of faith, saving him that is sick. God does not will that Satan torture us with disease. Nonetheless, all people are appointed to die and then be judged (Hebrews 9:27). Thus, God is not mere interested in healing physical illness. When Jesus healed people during his earthly journey, he did so to give a sign of proof what he preached about the kingdom was the truth. God’s chief concern is sin-sickness. Hence, the phrase, “if has committed sins it shall be forgiven him.” God is listening.
The Lord’s Model Prayer
The Lord’s model prayer is presented as a beginner’s prayer. Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray saying, “In this manner pray….” He then proceeds to teach them to exalt and glorify Father God first, before making any kind of request or supplication.
We pray for the kingdom church and her glory lasting continuously through the final judgment day of the Lord. The sovereign will of God is recognized and appreciated in our prayers petitioning the one Living God. He has all authority in Heaven. We pray for the universal submissiveness of the earth, the realm of men and women.
Going on in our prayers we ask the Creator of the cosmos to give us our necessities, or our daily bread. Learning to increase in forgive one another, we plead with the LORD to forgive us our debts. We are indebted beyond what we can pay, so we must reply upon the grace of Jesus Christ to offer up to God what we ourselves can never pay.
Gratitude For The Blood
Praise God we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. May Father God keep our way and lead us not into places where we could be seduced by evil or be tempted into falling short of glorifying God. The kingdom of heaven on earth belongs to Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Humbly we pray our Amen. We know the LORD of life listens. You can have confidence when you petition God in prayer. He listens. Father God hears every word you mumble when your humble. We pray through Jesus Christ because He is our great High Priest of souls (Hebrews 7). Even the Holy Spirit speaks on our behalf in Heaven when we are speechless to form the words of our needs and pains.
“…He who is searching the hearts hath known what is the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.” Romans 8:27 (YLT)
God knows what you need before you ask Him. He still wants you to ask because by asking we show our dependence on Him. Amen. God listens to you.
